A happy birthday to Social/Human rights activist, Retired Cleric and Nobel Laureate, born on 7 October 1931 in Klerksdorp, Western Transvaal, South Africa making the first black Archbishop of Cape Town and the first Bishop of the Anglican church in South Africa 85 years old today.
Known for his ferocious fight against Apartheid, Archbishop Desmond Tutu a Masters Degree holder in Theology from the prestigious King's College in London (1962-66).
He at a time lived on the famous Vilakazi street in Soweto which he moved into in 1975 with the late 'Madiba' Nelson Mandela, both of them Nobel Prize winners and Anti-Apartheid Crusaders;
This world renown PEACEMAKER has used his Tutu Foundation to champion the fight against HIV/AIDS, poverty, disease and war in Africa.
