CHAIKER BANTON SET TO GIVE PMAN IN AKWA IBOM STATE A FACE-LIFT AS CHAIRMAN!
Chaiker Banton, whose real name is Enefiok George Akpan, born in the early 70’s, hails from Mbiokporo Nsit in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, as an astute business man who doubles up as a professional musician, his pathway in music dates back to the 80’s when he took up music as a career. According to him, music runs in the family as even
his parents were also involved in music during a greater part of their lives.
Chaiker Banton started with his very first album titled “This Is The Time” released on the 18th December 1991 under P.S.R Record Label managed by a Spanish music promoter, marketer and publisher Mr. Miguel Daniels; “Difference” came as his second album under I.M Music label released on 2nd February 1994, I.M Music company was established by the Late Engr. Imoh Ema and was also managed by late Mr. Nse Ukim.
At a point, Chaiker Banton pioneered the formation of a strong musical group by the name “Navigators” which was made up of himself, Moses Eskor, Mike Bosom, and Joe Jay. The group was involved in musical concert tours, recordings, and other musical projects which endeared them to a lot of fans mostly the youths and so on. As the group got disbanded due to individual interests, each of them went different ways as Chaiker got picked up in 1997 by Mr. Clement Ikpang of “Hope Rising Music” where he came out again with another recorded album “positive” in 2003, this was his last project under external labels. Also in the year 2003 Chaiker Banton floated an entertainment services company “The Brains Media World” which had The Brains Band, one of the biggest bands in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State as at that time with high class professional session men, instrumentalists, and vocalists.

He also set up The Brains music recording studio along Nsasak street Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria to cater for the numerous number of music artistes that surrounded him by then which he had to produce and market under The Brains Media World Music Label.
Notable among those line up were his personal album “positive” and a group album”The Revolution” which brought together talented artists from Akwa Ibom to make up the album. On the Brain Media World platform, Chaiker Banton was able to harness the potentials embedded in young and upcoming music artistes in Akwa Ibom such as jaunty-24, Agey, Tito, and Subzion, etc. He empowered them by signing recording contracts which included recording, marketing, promotions, and all aspects of artiste management and of course the business has been very successful till date.

On August 17, 2015 Chaiker Banton was nominated by stakeholders, elders and the general house of performing musicians and employers association of Nigeria (PMAN) Akwa Ibom chapter to sit as a transition chairman with an executive council, a position which he held until 2017 where he stepped down to contest as a duly elected chairman of the union after inaugurating a seven man electoral board headed by comrade Joseph Itiaba.
