Shocking is the fact that International award winning Pop singer and performer, James Brown got sued on 19th September, 2002 by his own daughters for owing them over $879,307 in song royalties.
His daughters Dr. Yamma Brown Lumar and Deanna Brown Thomas took their father to court over the non-payment of royalties which covered over 25 co-written songs.
The unpaid royalties we gathered was due to a family grudge which James Brown had against his daughters for checking him into a Psychiatric hospital in 1998 over his addiction to painkillers and other addictive drugs.
