Pop star Jimi Hendrix on September 24, 1966, arrives London with his manager Chris Chandler via a flight from New York City
only with the clothes he had on as he had sold all of his other possessions to offset a hotel bill in New York. Couple of days later Hendrix changed his name from James to Jimi legally in the UK.
Back in the U.S, James Hendrix was just any other enthusiastic guitar player but his time in the U.K brought him fame and a proper positioning in his career path.
